## Installation

Packagento is licence-gated, so even free packages need a licence on a project before Composer can resolve them.

1. **Sign in or create an account** at https://packagento.com/customer/account/.

2. **Add the package to your account.** Open https://packagento.com/cloudinary/cloudinary-magento2 and complete the free checkout. A licence is minted automatically.

3. **Create or pick a project, then activate the licence on it.**
   - Projects represent the Magento installs you deploy to. Manage them at https://packagento.com/projects/.
   - Activate the new licence on the project you'll deploy this package to. Activation is what generates the Composer credentials scoped to that project.

4. **Add the project credentials to your Magento codebase.**

   Grab the project's public + private key from https://packagento.com/projects/ (open the project, then its Credentials tab), and add them to `auth.json`:

The Cloudinary Magento extension links your Magento website to your Cloudinary account, allowing you to serve all your product, category, and content management system (CMS) images directly from Cloudinary.

### Deprecation Notice

#### Image Delivery Domain Sharding (CDN Subdomain)

The **Image Delivery Domain Sharding** feature (`cdn_subdomain`) is deprecated and will be removed in the next major version.

##### How to Disable via Magento CLI

To disable the Image Delivery Domain Sharding setting using the Magento CLI, run:

```bash
bin/magento config:set cloudinary/configuration/cloudinary_cdn_subdomain 0
```

To verify the current value:

```bash
bin/magento config:show cloudinary/configuration/cloudinary_cdn_subdomain
```

After changing the configuration, flush the cache:

```bash
bin/magento cache:flush
```

##### Alternative: Disable via Admin Panel

1. Navigate to **Stores > Configuration > Cloudinary > Settings**
2. Expand the **Auto-upload** section
3. Set **Image Delivery Domain Sharding** to **No**
4. Click **Save Config**
5. Flush cache
